…even the darkness will not be dark to you; – Psalm 139:12

There are moments when I do not fully acknowledge the vastness of God’s love and the depths of His majestic ability to understand and provide for our needs.

Seeking his comfort, I read from Psalm 139 last night. Once I got to verse 12, I paused. I read it again, then closed my eyes and slowly began to feel a warmth come over me that comes only from receiving His word the way He intended for me at that moment.

Comfort. Peace. Love.

We have all had things done to us that are unfair, unjust and oftentimes, just plain cruel. Being followers of Christ does not exempt us from life’s difficulties (1Peter 4:12). We know we will get over it, but at the heights of realizing the pain, we seek His comfort. Solace is found in His word – and I am so thankful for that.

The darkness that we see and experience in our lives here on earth is not darkness to Him.

…even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. -Psalm 139:12
